Fall River Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

Sad news out of Fall River tonight as another young soldier has been killed overseas.

Scott Andrews was reportedly killed Monday in Afghanistan by an improvised explosive device.  He was one of nine coalition soldiers who died on the same day: four were lost in a helicopter crash, two killed in a suicide bombing, one to small-arms fire, and one other in an unrelated roadside bombing.

Andrews turned 21 years old on Memorial Day.

In April, National Guard Sergeant Robert Barrett, also of Fall River, was killed in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber.
