Fallen Cranston police officers remembered in memorial ceremony

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A ceremony in memory of fallen Cranston police officers was held on Wednesday.

Members of the police department gathered by a memorial engraved with names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the community they protect.

Officials gave remarks, thanking those who served and making sure their names are remembered.

The tribute was one of many local ceremonies to observe National Police Week, which is recognized each year in Washington, D.C.
