Family-owned Brazilian Steakhouse opens in East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) –  Gustavo Da Silva opened the Minas Café – Brazilian Steakhouse II this Wednesday, December 22 alongside his family and Mayor Bob DaSilva.

Located on Waterman Avenue, this restaurant focuses on Brazilian fare. “There’s a lot of interest in our cuisine,” Gustavo Da Silva said. “People would travel from Providence and East Providence to our restaurant in Norwood so we decided the time was right and we chose East Providence.”

The Da Silva family have operated the Norwood Minas Café for over 18 years, but Gustavo’s father, Isaac Da Silva Neto, has spent 40 years working in culinary, between the United States and Brazil.

“We are delighted to welcome Minas Café here in East Providence,” Mayor Bob DaSilva said. “We wish the Da Silva family good luck and good fortune on their new endeavor.”
