Fantastic Friday precedes wet weekend

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) — A shower-free Friday (finally!) after we had a chance each of the last three days.

Expect sunshine and some afternoon high clouds with temperatures in the 60s away from the water.

Clouds thicken up Friday night with rain arriving towards midday Saturday. It looks like a soaker right on through Sunday morning, when we get a brief break before more rain Sunday night.

Models for both events are totaling near 2″, which would almost completely erase our April deficit.

Next week remains on the cool side with temperatures below average for the most part. More showers are expected for parts of the midweek.
