Fire breaks out at coffee shop in East Greenwich

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — A fire damaged a coffee shop in East Greenwich Tuesday evening.

According to the East Greenwich Fire Chief, Bernard Patenaude, firefighters had to make entry through the window of the Drip Coffee Shop on South County Trail to extinguish the blaze.

ABC 6 News crews were on the scene where heavy smoke and fire damage could be seen through the broken window on the front of the shop.

Officials said the store was closed at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the East Greenwich Fire Department.
