Fire breaks out in automotive repair shop in Attleboro

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — A fire broke out in an automotive repair shop in Attleboro early Friday morning.

The fire happened just before 4 a.m. on Washington Street.

Fire Chief Scott LaChance said when they arrived, they encountered fire and smoke coming from the repair shop’s office and waiting area.

The fire was knocked down in 30 minutes.

The waiting and office areas were damaged by the fire. Other parts of the building, said LaChance, sustained water and smoke damage.

LaChance said the repair shop wont be open for business any time soon.

The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
