Fire causes evacuation at U.S. Army National Guard Armory

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE): Over 100 soldiers at the U.S. Army National Guard Armory on North Main Street in Providence were evacuated due to a fire on Sunday, according to the Providence Fire Chief. 

The fire happened before 3 p.m., while they were holding drills in the building. No one was in the section of the building where the fire started. 

It took firefighters around 35 minutes to control the fire, according to the chief. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
