Fire damages Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — A fire damaged Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln early Monday morning.

An ABC 6 News crew on scene saw smoke billowing from the roof at about 5 a.m. Firefighters were working on finishing hot spots hours later.

Fire officials said the fire broke out in the loading doc into the kitchen.

The kitchen and roof are significantly damaged. The country club also has water damage through the roof to the basement.

Officials said the fire left holes in the roof across the building.

No injuries were reported, but one firefighter had heat exhaustion.

The fire happened just before Memorial Day weekend, which for venues, marks the beginning of wedding season.
