A fire at a tire recycling plant in New Bedford is under investigation.

Firefighters arrived at “F & B Rubberized” just after 4 a.m. after tires caught fire.

It took crews three hours to put out the flames.

No official word on the cause, however, the manager tells ABC 6 he believes it was intentionally set because he says tires need an accelerant to catch fire.

According to the manager three trailers of tires are a total loss. He estimated the damage to be between $20,000 and $30,000.
