Fire forces Providence family from their home

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A fire forced a Providence family out of their Rounds Avenue home early Thursday morning.

Fire crews were called around 3 a.m. and found active flames when they arrived.

The family got out safely, but one firefighter had minor injuries.

Firefighters knocked down the flames in about a half-hour.

Officials said the kitchen was heavily damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
