Fire in Tiverton heavily damages home

TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A home was destroyed after crews knocked down a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon.

Crews responded to a home on Chase Ave after a call came in just after 4:00 p.m., reporting heavy flames coming from the dwelling.

One woman was home at the time suffered minor burns, but refused treatment from authorities.

Three cats and a ferret were rescued from the blaze.

According to the Tiverton Fire Department, it is unclear how many people will be displaced from the home.

National Grid was also called to the scene.
