One person is dead after a fire broke out in a triple-decker building in Woonsocket.

Flames shot up from the building on Dulude Avenue around 1 a.m. One male tenant was killed in the blaze however no one else was injured.

“It started off on the third floor porch and it was just a little flame… Within three to four minutes the whole side had caught up like it had gas on it or something… It caught that fast,” said Roland Desjarlais.

The Red Cross is assisting three people who were displaced by the fire.

Firefighters say they believe the fire started on a porch and do not believe it is suspicious, although a cause is yet to be determined.
