Firefighters battle fire in multi-family home in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE): Three adults are displaced after a fire in a multi-family home in Cranston on Saturday evening.

The fire started on Bolton Street around 5 p.m., according to the Deputy Fire Chief Robert Ryan.

The Red Cross said they are assisting two families.

One resident along with a pet was inside one of the apartments during the fire.

“There was heavy smoke in the apartment, heavy smoke in the corridor,” Deputy Chief Ryan said. “Crews went in the front to battle the fire, secondary crew in the rear, where they pulled the renter out with his rabbit.”

The fire started from the front apartment but the cause is still under investigation.  according to Deputy Chief Ryan.
