Flood warnings for area rivers
After inches of rainfall Wednesday night, three area rivers are now in a minor flood.
The Pawtuxet River in Cranston is expected to be in minor flood through Sunday morning.
This river will crest nearly 2 feet above flood stage Friday morning and fall back below flood stage Saturday evening.
Areas affected in Warwick include Pioneer Avenue, Bellows Street, Venturi Ave. and River Ave. as well as Avery Road and Wellington Ave. in Cranston.
The Wood River in Hope Valley in Richmond is in minor flood and is expected to remain in flood until Friday afternoon.
After cresting this evening, we should see improvement on Wood River Drive, Wood River Circle and The Dow Park areas.
The Pawcatuck River in Westerly is also in minor flood and expected to remain above flood stage through Saturday afternoon.
This river is tidally influenced and even though it crested this afternoon already, it will crest again Friday evening.
Areas affected in Hopkinton include French Village and areas near Route 3 as well as Hiscox Rd. in Westerly.
