PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ A light bulb maker is relocating its executive office from Florida and touting new jobs in the Providence area.

Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo and Ed Bednarcik, CEO of Lighting Science Group, are speaking Monday at the Rhode Island School of Design Museum as the company plans to open a new executive headquarters in the Ocean State.

The Melbourne, Fla.-based company makes LED lights. Company executives say they’ve been searching for a new location for their headquarters that offers a well-educated, tech-savvy workforce and proximity to large regional markets.

Raimondo and other speakers Monday are also expected to discuss the company’s products and how they can benefit innovation and energy in Rhode Island.
