Former Johnston officer won’t face prison time

A former Johnston police officer who broke into a home demanding drug money and assaulting a resident will “not” do time. Marisa Ciccone entered a plea agreement to pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges and received two one year suspended sentences to run consecutively and probation.
She also has to undergo substance abuse counseling.
Ciccone was arrested last year after police say she and 44-year-old James Fortin, broke into a Warwick home, hit a teenage girl in the face, and ransacked the place.
The 24-year-old had only been with the department for eight months. She was later terminated.
Fortin was charged with trespassing and given a one year suspended sentence and probation.
