Foster man arrested for engaging with 13-year-old, shared explicit images

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – A foster man convicted in Rhode Island state court has been ordered detained in federal custody for allegedly possessing child pornography.

31-year-old John Q. Adams was arrested was convicted for engaging online with a person he believed to be a 13-year-old girl, with whom he shared explicit images, and tried to make arrangements at her middle school for sex.

He was arrested on Thursday on a federal criminal complaining charging him with possession of child pornography following an investigation.

The investigation determined that Adams allegedly uploaded a video depicting a prepubescent female engaged in various sex acts.

His alleged online activity was brought to the attention of Homeland Security Investigations by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

In June 2017, he was sentenced in Rhode Island state court to 5 years of incarceration, 1 year suspended with four to serve, and ordered to register as a sex offender.
