CRANSTON, RI (WLNE) – Four public schools in Cranston will remain closed while the rest of the city’s schools will reopen to in-person learning Tuesday.

Cranston East High School, Western Hills Middle School, Orchard Farms Elementary School, and Woodridge Elementary School will remain closed until Nov. 23.

The school district cites “school staffing” concerns due to COVID-19 cases as reasons the schools remain closed.

The districts say they only anticipate the closures to last for the remainder of the week.

On Nov. 11, all Cranston Public Schools switched to distance learning for the rest of the week due to staffing shortages, and the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Rhode Island.
