Freetown police investigate fatal crash involving pedestrian
FREETOWN, Mass. (WLNE)- Freetown police said they are investigating a fatal automobile crash involving a pedestrian that occurred on County Road just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s identified the victim as 35 year old Christopher Pennenga of Freetown, Massachusetts.
According to a statement from Bristol County DA Thomas Quinn III, Pennenga was found in the roadway with major injuries and pronounced dead a short time later.
Freetown Police Chief Carlton Abbott offered few details about the incident, saying in a written statement that police and fire personnel responded to a serious crash and the incident remains under investigation by state and local police.
Quinn said his office will not be releasing further details about the incident while it is under investigation, but asked the public to contact the Freetown Police Department if they had any information.
