The fugitive murder suspect who sent police on a wild chase across downtown Providence appeared in Fall River District court Friday. Pedro Torres was captured in Fall River Thursday and is now being held without bail.

The 36-year-old is facing multiple charges from multiple places. In Puerto Rico, he’s charged with three counts of homicide. In Rhode Island, he faces fugitive and firearm charges. That list will likely get longer after Fall River Police seized multiple weapons from the apartment he was found in.

In court, Torres’ attorney questioned the homicide charges.

"There’s really no evidence other than the Providence Police saying that he’s a suspect in a triple homicide,” said James Hanley, Torres’ attorney.

Torres is due back in court on September 8th for a dangerousness hearing.
