Full interview: StyleWeek founder on Oscar fashion hits, misses

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Who better to help break down the fashion hits and misses from the Oscar Red Carpet than the founder of StyleWeek, Rosanna Ortiz!

Rather than go with the safe bet for best dressed (Regina King), Ortiz picks Caitriona Balfe as one of the stars who dazzled the red carpet in a black and blush pink gown from Valentino.

Despite many calling it the “Lasagna Dress”, Ortiz also liked funny lady Kristen Wiig’s red dress. Ortiz felt like she took a risk here and it paid off. This was also by Valentino.

And in a dramatic statement gown, Cynthia Erivo really was breathtaking on the red carpet. The two-time nominee Sunday night wore a dramatic gown by Versace.

As for those who missed the mark, Ortiz felt Best Supporting Actress Winner Laura Dern didn’t quite win on the red carpet–the black tassels on top cheapening her look.

Ortiz was also not a fan of Krysty Wilson-Cairns, saying there was too much tulle and different mediums used here and in the wrong color for her.
