Fundraising page aims to help catch Seekonk hit and run driver

It’s been more than a month since a Seekonk woman was killed in a blatant hit and run. That driver is still out there and now her friends and family are raising money for a sizeable reward to try and find that person.
51-year-old Karen McHugh was walking in front of her Seekonk home back in January when she was struck and killed.
“Of course they took her life. My life will never be the same, essentially it’s been taken as well,” said McHugh’s wife, Sandy Lima.
Lima is desperate to find the person who did this.
“It’s an open ended horrific situation,” said Lima.
A friend created a Go Fund Me Page a little more than two weeks back.
“We came up with the idea of maybe creating some sort of incentive for people to check extra parking lots or just keep their eye open,” said Hilary Lundgren.
So far, more than $10,000 has been raised. The money will be used as a reward for anyone with credible information that comes forward.
“The fund has been I guess one bright spot to see people respond to it,” said Lima.
The car that hit McHugh has been described as a dark gray GM sedan with front end damage.
“I truly don’t know how you can live with yourself without owning up to this situation,” said Lima.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Seekonk Police Department at 508-336-8123.
