Garnett and Perkins Miss Celts Practice

WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) – Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett is

nursing a right foot injury that has kept him out of practice.

The Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers are tied 1-1 in their

best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series. Game 3 isn't

until Friday night, and coach Doc Rivers says he expects Garnett to

play.

Garnett showed up for practice at the team's workout facility

Wednesday but wasn't able to fully participate, so Rivers told him

to rest his foot. Rivers said Garnett sprained his ankle, but

Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss said it was a mild mid-foot strain.

Center Kendrick Perkins also missed practice. He hyperextended

his right knee in the shootaround before Monday night's game, but

played anyway.

Garnett was injured late in the 104-86 win in Cleveland.
