Gas prices in Rhode Island up 5 cents
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Gas prices are rising again in Rhode Island.
AAA Northeast said Monday that the average for a gallon of gas is up 5 cents from last week, averaging $3.85 a gallon.
“Rising oil prices fueled by worries over Russian oil production cuts have renewed concerns about global supplies,” noted Diana Gugliotta, director of public affairs for AAA Northeast.
Gugliotta said today’s price is 43 cents higher than a month ago and 45 cents higher than this time last year.
Rhode Island’s average gas price is 5 cents higher than the national average.
AAA Northeast said today’s national average price is 9 cents higher than a month ago ($3.89), and 38 cents higher than this day last year ($3.42).
The current average price for a gallon of gas in Connecticut is $3.76, while Massachusetts drivers are seeing a price of $3.84.
