Gas Prices Rise in RI, Drop in MA
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Gas prices in Rhode Island have risen a penny to an average of $3.56 per gallon of regular unleaded, two cents below the national average.
AAA Southern New England says in a weekly survey released Monday that the price is almost 80 cents above Rhode Island's average gas price a year ago, which was $2.78.
The rise comes a week after a 1-cent drop in the average price for regular unleaded in Rhode Island marked the first decrease in Rhode Island gas prices since January.
BOSTON (AP) – Massachusetts gas prices have dropped for the first time in nearly five months – just barely.
AAA Southern New England reported Monday that self-serve, regular dropped by a penny to an average of $3.46 per gallon.
It's the first time since Nov. 1 prices have been lower than the previous week.
The price is 12 cents below the national average, but still 75 cents more than at the same time a year ago.
AAA found self-serve regular as low as $3.35 per gallon, and as high as $3.65.
