Gov. Dan McKee mobilizes 180 National Guard members for COVID-19 response
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee announced on Tuesday that the state has mobilized 180 National Guard members to help with the current COVID-19 surge.
The governor said that the National Guard members will be helping out at vaccination and test sites throughout the Ocean State.
Members first helped at sites in Central Falls.
McKee said that the state has yet to assign National Guard members to help out in hospitals, but a plan is being finalized to do so.
