Gov. McKee signs IGT-Bally’s lottery agreement into law
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Governor Dan McKee signed a bill into law on Friday enabling a partnership between IGT, Bally’s Corporation, and the State of Rhode Island.
In addition to a 20-year contract extension, the new law includes a commitment by IGT to keep 1,100 jobs in Rhode Island while Bally’s is committed to a $100 million expansion of its Twin River Casino in Lincoln.
“Today is about one thing,” said McKee, “It’s about jobs…and how important good-paying jobs are to Rhode Island.”
A bill signing ceremony took place at the State House on Friday. The contracts will begin in 2022 and run through 2043.
Headquartered in Lincoln, Bally’s Corporation operates Twin River Casino and the Tiverton Casino Hotel in Rhode Island along with casinos in 11 other states.
