Gov. McKee to focus on vaccinating student-athletes

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE)- Gov. Dan McKee is set to discuss the importance of vaccinating student-athletes and school communities on Wednesday afternoon.

The governor will be joined by Rhode Island Interscholastic League Executive Director, Michael Lunney, as well as RIDOH officials at Johnston High School at 2 p.m.

Wednesday’s press conference comes one day after a Johnston school had to be closed for contact tracing, after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

There will be a pop-up vaccination clinic at Wednesday’s press conference.
