Governor Carcieri Urges People to Stay in Tonight

Governor Carcieri is urging Rhode Islanders to stay home and stay off the roads tonight as the worst of Hurricane Earl is expected late this evening.

At an afternoon press conference at the RI EMA Headquarters in Cranston, Governor Carcieri said to steer clear of Route 95 tonight.  While the potential flooding tonight isn't expected to be anywhere near as bad as the spring flooding that closed the highway, it's still a concern as far as state officials are concerned.
