Governor McKee hosting this week’s briefing on coronavirus

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – For the first time as Governor of Rhode Island, Dan McKee is set to host the weekly coronavirus briefing.

This briefing follows his first full day as Governor, where he spent most of the day encouraging people to get vaccinated and aiming to get teachers back in the classroom.

Governor McKee said he was on a call Wednesday afternoon on the subject, where he discussed expanding capacity for teachers, and how he will be discussing it with school leaders to make it happen.

McKee will be joined by the Director of the Rhode Island Department of Health, Dr. Nicole-Alexander Scott.

The briefing will include the most recent statistic provided by RIDOH.
