Governor to deliver 6th State of the State address

RHODE ISLAND (WLNE) – Governor Gina Raimondo will deliver her 6th State of the State address tonight at 7:00 p.m. before a joint session of the Rhode Island General Assembly.

Her speech will take place in the House chamber and will highlight the progress Rhode Island has made throughout the past five years and outline a long-term vision for the future of the state.

She is expected to address several different issues, including plans on how to tackle the state’s $200 million budget deficit and the current state of education in Rhode Island. 

Following the Governor’s address, House Republican Leader Blake Filippi will provide commentary on the 2020 Republican legislative agenda.

ABC6 will provide special coverage on the State of the State address on-air and online beginning at 7:00 p.m.
