Grand jury indicts Pawtucket man accused of murdering 84-year-old

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A grand jury has indicted a Pawtucket man accused of murdering an 84-year-old man earlier this year.
Matthew Dufresne was indicted on one count of murder, one count of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a crime of violence, and one count of possession of fentanyl and/or xylazine (10g or less).
On March 11, police responded to a home on Eddington Street, where they found the 84-year-old dead.
Police identified Dufresne, 34, as the homeowner and had charged him in the man’s death. It’s unclear what led up to the murder.
He’s scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Providence Superior Court.
