Grinch ransacks mother’s home, steals kid’s presents

A grinch took everything but the christmas tree from a family in Central Falls. With just days before Christmas, the single mother is trying to figure out how she'll recover, and give her two kids the Christmas they deserve.
28-year-old Lisa Vance almost had all of her kids Christmas shopping done. When she came home from work Thursday, her house was ransacked, her children's presents gone.
“How could you take from kids, I mean, I don't think that they care obviously. It broke my heart you know, to know that all my kids presents were gone, and my first thought was what am I going to do,” said Vance.
Vance discovered the break–in with her two kids, 10-year-old Joshua and 8-year-old Krista Thursday night.
“At first I was just shocked, and them my kids saw that all their gifts were gone, they were pretty upset they started crying,” Vance explained.
She figured out the grinch had gotten in through the window and stole an american girl doll for Krista, a skateboard for Joshua, the kids X–Box, Lisa's TV, and jewelry among other things. But it's not the things, that has this mother torn. Its her family's now tarnished sense of security, just days before Christmas.
“They're nervous that somebody else can come in to, and just to have your kids feel scared is unsettling,” she explained.
If this grinch did any good for the Vance's, it's that it's brought them closer. Her family and friends have already jumped in to help, offering to replace some of the things stolen.
“The fact that everybody wants to help is just amazing and it just shows you that there are good people out there, I just can't wait to see their face on Christmas, their still going to have one,” said Vance.
