CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Americans with Disabilities Act handicap accessible playground at B.F. Norton Elementary School was held on May 9.

The Rhode Island Health and Educational Building Corporation also presented the town with a ceremonial $100,000 Capital Grant Program check.

“RIHEBC is pleased to provide Capital Grant Program support for this beautiful new playground facility that will be accessible to all Cumberland children,” RIHEBC Executive Director Kim Mooers said.

Cumberland Mayor Jeff Mutter thanked the organization for the funding help.

“We can’t wait to see kids playing, smiling, and just plain having fun at this great new playground facility,” he said.
