WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health said Thursday the advisory to avoid swimming at Warwick’s Goddard Memorial State Park Beach was lifted.

This came after bacteria counts in the water returned to safe levels.

Goddard was one of 13 beaches the department recommended to close for swimming earlier this week.

The department will continue to check Rhode Island waters through Labor Day.

The status of beaches throughout the Ocean State can change throughout the summer.

Beachgoers are advised to check the most recent data before heading out.
