HealthSource RI announces new name, outreach tour, and job creations.

The Rhode Island Health Benefits Exchange announced important updates and initiatives – including their new name, logo, community outreach tour and the creation of 70-100 new jobs.

 The health benefits exchange has decided to change their name to “HealthSource RI and the name and logo will now be featured in all advertising, marketing, and communications materials from now on.

As for the jobs, when the company's new contact center is fully operational, 70-100 Rhode Islanders will be employed. Rhode Island residents interested in learning more about contact center job opportunities can visit  

The Exchange is also preparing to enroll Rhode Islanders in quality affordable health insurance plans starting October 1, 2013 and have made plans to simplify the process.

The contact center will feature extended hours and the ability for Rhode Island individuals to talk over the phone or even in-person with engagement specialists who will work to assist them in finding, comparing and buying health insurance options that are made available through HealthSource RI.

“HealthSource RI's contact center will be a tremendous resource for Rhode Islanders looking to understand the health insurance options available through the exchange, and whether they qualify for tax credits to make their care more affordable,” said Governor Chafee. “I'm also thrilled that while we are improving our healthcare system and making insurance available to more Rhode Islanders, we are also creating a number of high quality jobs for Rhode Island residents.”

The Exchanged announced the kickoff of a state-wide community outreach that will present businesses, community groups, and healthcare consumers in 39 Rhode Island cities and towns with information on the exchange, plan options, consumer assistance options and tax credit eligibility.  

 “We understand that Rhode Island small employers and individuals have many questions about what HealthSource RI is and how we can help them find quality health insurance options that fit their budget,” said Christine Ferguson, Director of HealthSource RI.  “That's why we are committed to getting out into every city and town in the state to educate Rhode Islanders and to answer their questions. We will continue these presentations throughout Rhode Island over the next 12 months.
