Heat breaks tomorrow behind strong storms

Hate it or love it, the summer heat we’ve had this week is about to come to an end.

After a few morning showers tomorrow, highs should reach the mid to upper 80s in the afternoon with some sun breaking out. But then the attention will turn to a strong cold front moving in.

Timing as of right now is after 5pm, and once the storms arrive they could turn severe. Similar to last night, gusty winds, hail and flash flooding are all possible.

Behind the front lies a much cooler and drier air mass, meaning it will be much comfier going into next week.

A late development here in the weather center this evening: a weak disturbance may move near enough to Southern New England Monday into Tuesday to bring some showers.

This has appeared on the most recent model runs, but it has shown up on several of them. I’m keeping the days mainly dry for now, but that may change if this scenario plays out on future runs.
