Heavy Rain & Gusty Winds To Start The Week

Heavy Rain & Gusty Winds To Start The Week

A strong system will be impacting the area to kick off a new work week. We are dry and cool this morning but as the morning progresses, scattered rain begins to move in. Quickly heavy rain becomes more widespread and isolated thunderstorms will be possible later in the afternoon. It will be very mild with highs in the low 60s. On top of the heavy rain, very gusty winds are expected to peak through the late afternoon and continue through the evening hours. Gusts well over 50MPH will be possible from the south for much of the area, slightly lower farthest inland. A HIGH WIND WARNING in place for all expect NW Providence County where a WIND ADVISORY is in place. The Advisory and the Warning start at 3PM and last until 1AM.  Power outages and wind damage will be possible. Rain continues overnight with 1-2″ expected but some locally higher amounts will be possible.

Scattered showers will continue through the area tomorrow with windy conditions expected, still seeing gusts around 30MPH. It will be very mild to start the day, upper 50s expected, then gradually we see temperatures dropping as the day goes on. Overnight will be partly clear and cooler with lows in the 30s.

Wednesday is mostly cloudy with highs more seasonable in the mid to upper 40s. More sunshine on Thursday with cool temperatures still in place, morning lows in the low 30s, afternoon highs in the mid to upper 40s. A few isolated showers possible on Friday with highs in the low 50s.
