CHEPACHET & SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) – In the height of summer camp season, two Girl Scout camp ponds in Rhode Island have been temporarily closed.

Tuesday night’s heavy rain means no swimming for the next 24 hours at Camp Cookie in Chepachet.

Also, high bacteria levels at Camp Hoffman in South Kingstown are forcing their beach to close.

The Department of Health will continue to test the water and re-open the beaches when bacteria levels drop.
