Heavy rain moves in later today

Cold, rainy and breezy Friday

Overcast and damp as we head into the early afternoon with highs only around 50°. The breeze will slowly pick up as the afternoon progresses. Late today and into this evening showers begin to become more widespread. Heavy rain expected overnight with lows in the upper 30s and low 40s.

With chilly temperatures in place, there is potential for snow in higher elevations in northwestern MA. Can’t rule out a few wet flakes mixing in farthest inland, but for the most part this is a cold rain event for us in Rhode Island and SE MA.

On & off rain will continue through the day Friday. When it’s not actually raining, it will still be overcast and damp. Highs will only be in the mid 40s, well below average for this time of year and it will be breezy too. That will make us feel even cooler. Scattered showers linger overnight and into Saturday morning before we start to dry out.

Saturday afternoon is still mostly cloudy and cool for this time of year, expect highs in the low 50s. Overnight will be partly clear with lows in the upper 30s. Sunday looks partly sunny and seasonable with highs into the mid to upper 50s.

Low 60s into the start of next week with mainly dry weather expected for Monday and Tuesday. Another chance of rain showers arrives Wednesday.
