Heavy Rainfall Continues Through Tuesday

Spotter Rainfall

Heavy rainfall has brought more than 7 inches of rainfall to Sothern New England areas, primarily in Providence County. Overnight tonight we will bring through a rather intense area of rainfall that will add to these already high totals. The Tuesday morning commute will likely be tricky with pockets of urban flooding and even small rivers and streams going into flood. The Woonasquatucket River on the Johnston/ North Providence line is already in minor flood.

Woonosquatucket Flood

Tuesday will see a continuation of the occasional rounds of heavy rain and we could add 1-2+” more to our already impressive totals. The rain will taper off Tuesday evening and we get back to some dry weather through Wednesday. Once the sun returns it will stick around through the upcoming weekend.
