Rain most of the day will continue this evening with heavy, torrential rain expected after midnight through Thursday morning. 2-5″ in most locations across the area, some spots may be even higher. A Flash Flood Watch has been remains in effect through Thursday morning. Flooded roads, basements all likely. There is a slight chance of strong thunderstorms as well. Thunderstorms that may produce an isolated tornado. Coastal locations would run the highest risk. Increasing winds by morning, gusts 30-40 MPH could lead to uprooted trees and potential power outages.
Slow morning commute expected on Thursday. Rainfall rates of 1-2″ per hour will likely contribute to flooded roads, potential for flash flooding Thursday morning.Heaviest of rain will move East quickly and by mid to late morning only lingering showers expected. May even pop a little sun late in the day Thursday.
