Heavy Rainfall Potential Monday

Sunday night wraps up the weekend with clouds, the redevelopment of fog, and the chance of a few scattered showers and even a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm. A FLOOD WATCH has been issued by the National Weather Service to go into effect at 2am Monday through 8am Tuesday for all of Rhode Island except Block Island. We have the potential to see 1-3 inches of rainfall, and a good deal of it could come down in a short period of time. As a result, we could see localized flooding. There is a chance of thunderstorms Monday as well and this could also produce downpours. The last of the rain showers moves through early Tuesday. Wednesday is going to be a classic New England Scorcha. Expect lots of sunshine and hit highs near 90 and the humidity will still be soupy. Thursday should be dry as well with more cloudiness. Thursday will however be very humid – truly the air you can wear.
