Henri impact: Local towns recommend evacuations, shelter in place


Local towns are recommending residents in coastal areas ride out the storm elsewhere. In Bristol County, Massachusetts, Swansea officials expect significant storm impacts in low-lying areas.

The town is encouraging residents in Little Neck, Gardeners Neck, Ocean Grove, Touisset, and Old Providence to evacuate as a precaution. It opened at 9 a.m.

In South Kingstown, Rhode Island, officials say a storm surge could block access to some roads, rendering emergency services inaccessible.
Residents of Middlebridge, Matunuck, and Green Hill are asked to consider moving to an inland location for the storm.
Westerly is also asking all residents and visitors to shelter in place and avoid being on the roadways Sunday until the storm passes.
