Here Comes the Rain

Our dry week is coming to an end this weekend. not one, but two areas of low pressure will be making rain for us. Low number 1 is a coastal low off the Carolina coast with low number 2 being a cold front coming to us through the Great Lakes. The coastal low comes first with increasing clouds tonight and a slight chance of a morning shower. Patchy fog will abound as well. More persistent showers and even the chance of thunderstorms develop for the afternoon. Some showers could be locally heavy and rainfall totals Saturday will be .5-.75″. The real heavy rain comes with the front Saturday night. The front is expected to absorb the last of the coastal low’s energy, amplifying the rainfall overnight. We could see an additional 1-2″ of rainfall by Sunday morning. As a result, localized flooding is possible like poor drainage areas, debris clogged drains and some basements may see some puddling. Sunday may start off with any straggling shower, but most of the day looks mostly sunny and warmer too with highs in the mid-70s. A look at the week ahead shows another dry one with plenty of sunshine and seasonable temperatures.
