Historic funeral home up for sale in Millbury Massachusetts

MILLBURY, Mass. (WLNE) — The “for sale” sign reads “probably haunted,” outside the Turgeon Funeral Home on Main Street in Millbury, Massachusetts. That’s because historically speaking, the Greek Revival building has seen many souls come and go.
WCVB reports that the funeral home was built in 1850 or earlier. The Massachusetts Historical Commission identifies the building as significant because of its architecture.
Records further indicate that the building was originally used as a residence before it was turned into a funeral home.
The property last sold in 2001 for $100, state records show. The building and 0.4-acre lot it comes on are assessed at a value of $514,000.
There are currently no active listings for the property but according to Redfin.com, the property is 5,188 square feet with three bedrooms and two and one-half baths.
The former funeral home’s official listing is expected to go live Tuesday with an asking price of $769,000.
