Hit-and-Run Accident in Rehoboth

The Rehoboth Police Department is investigating a Hit and Run Accident involving serious personal injury which occurred earlier this morning, June 25, 2010 at 3:36 a.m.   

The single vehicle accident occurred in front of 126 Pine Street which is in the northwestern part of the town.   

The vehicle which was a 1999 Lincoln Continental color black received heavy front end and was abandoned by the side of the road after striking a utility pole.  

Three of the four occupants of the vehicle were found hiding in a wooded section of a property owner's residence approximately three quarters of a mile from the scene.  

Two of the three occupants had received injuries in the crash, one of which was unconscious.  The two injured occupants were treated at the scene by Rehoboth Ambulance personnel and were transported to R.I. Hospital for treatment.  

One of the injured persons is a 17 year old female from Pawtucket, R.I. who is listed in critical condition at R.I. Hospital.  

The driver of the vehicle is being sought at this time.  He is described as a 20 year old male, shaved head, heavy set (180-200 lbs)  wearing a black tank top, shorts, and sneakers.  The accident remains under investigation at this time by the Rehoboth Police Department Patrolman Douglas Brown and Detective Jasson Ferreira.
