Hit and run, two people trapped inside taken to hospital

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE): Police extricated two people trapped inside a car that was flipped over in Providence.

The crash happened near Virginia Avenue and Baker Street.  According to an officer on the scene, it was the result of a hit and run around 5 p.m.

A man and woman inside the car were taken out safely and sent to the hospital.

A witness told ABC6 news “it was a miracle the two people made it out alive.”

Providence Police are searching for the driver responsible.
