Home Invasion in South Kingstown

On Thursday the South Kingstown Police Department received a 911 call from 25 Berth Avenue reporting a home invasion.

Officers arrived on scene after the 9:45PM call and interviewed the resident. The investigation revealed that he was inside his home with his roommates when three masked males armed with knives entered through an unlocked front door.

Once inside they ordered everyone onto the ground and struck one of the occupants in the face with a fist causing a minor injury. The suspects demanded money and escorted one of the residents to their bedroom. Once in the bedroom, the resident was forced to open a safe and hand over money. The suspects then fled the scene.

This home invasion does not appear to be random in nature and the police department believes that this residence was targeted.  The investigation is continuing.
