Hopkinton woman held without bail after deadly pedestrian crash

HOPKINTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Hopkinton woman accused of hitting and killing an elderly man on Dec. 6 was held without bail on Monday.

Hopkinton police alleged 41-year-old Shannon Godbout left her lane and struck two telephone poles, before hitting Roderick Macleod, who was walking his dog.

Macleod was transported to the hospital where he was declared dead.

Police searched Godbout’s car and allegedly found narcotics and packaging materials consistent with drug distribution.

She was arrested and charged with driving to endanger resulting in death and possession of Schedule I/II narcotics with intent to distribute.
